Automated Control Room Director Position

Global News Toronto is hiring a Part-Time Automated Control Room Operator to enhance our broadcast team. Utilize your directing expertise to manage live and recorded programming effectively.

As a key part of the team, you will direct live and pre-taped broadcasts, perform crucial technical checks, and assist in producing flawless programming. This role requires creativity and leadership to effectively guide teams and ensure the highest production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the direction of live and pre-taped programming

• Conduct technical checks and operations on various equipment

• Collaborate closely with producers, anchors, and reporters

• Oversee the control room’s technical staff and operations

• Manage remote coordination for live events as needed

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in a relevant field such as Broadcast Technology

• At least 2 years of network control room experience

• Experience with automated directing tools like Mosart or Overdrive

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a tech-driven environment

• Knowledge of audio systems and lighting principles is a plus
