Lead Trombone for Orchestra

As one of Canada's largest community orchestras, Orchestra Toronto is hiring a Principal Trombone for the upcoming season. You will perform major symphonic works, shape the brass section's sound, and participate in rehearsals on Thursdays from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This role includes a stipend of $110.00 per service and possible renewals for future seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform major symphonic works at concerts

• Collaborate with guest artists during performances

• Shape and lead the sound of the brass section

• Attend weekly rehearsals from September to June

• Prepare required excerpts for auditions

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in orchestral performance

• Ability to interpret works by Brahms, Mozart, Ravel, and Rossini

• Commitment to the full rehearsal and concert schedule

• Strong collaboration skills with fellow musicians

• Resume detailing musical experience required
