Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Ballroom Dance Teacher role based at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Toronto, ON. The teacher will provide individual and group instruction in Ballroom, Latin, and Swing styles, guiding students from beginner to advanced levels in a supportive and engaging manner. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, demonstrating steps and techniques, coaching students for social events and competitions, and tracking student progress against personalized goals.

The role involves participating in studio events, social dance parties, and showcases, while actively contributing to a positive, inclusive studio culture. The teacher will also assist with student consultations, schedule coordination, and occasional promotional activities to support studio growth.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Ballroom, Latin, and Social dance styles, with the ability to demonstrate and explain techniques clearly.
  • Experience teaching or coaching in a dance, fitness, or performing arts environment, with an emphasis on student-centered instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate, encourage, and build rapport with diverse students.
  • Ability to create structured lesson plans, set goals with students, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and skill levels.
  • Comfort leading both private and group classes, and working in a lively, social studio setting with regular events and performances.
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and time management, including evening and weekend availability as required by studio schedules.
  • Background in competitive dance, performance, or choreography is an asset, as is prior experience with Arthur Murray methods or similar programs.
  • A passion for helping people gain confidence, fitness, and social connection through dance; willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification.
