The Senior Producer, Creative Production will lead and manage full-cycle editorial photography and video productions, ensuring creative vision, logistical excellence, and budget adherence, from concept through final delivery. Supervise and mentor the Coordinator, Production & Photo Studio to optimize team performance. This position will require weekly in-person work at our Bloor Street West offices in Toronto, ON and may require extended hours on production days.

Core Responsibilities:
  • End-to-end Production Leadership:
    Collaborate with the DVP of Creative, Art Director, and internal Marketing stakeholders to define scope, concept, and deliverables for both Photography (print and digital) and Video productions. Develop and own production schedules, timelines, and budgets. Tracking and adjusting as necessary. Source and manage freelance crew, talent/models, equipment, studios, locations, permits, and other vendors as needed. Negotiate and manage contracts, rates, and budgets with freelancers, talent/models, facilities, and third-party vendors.

    Oversee creation of production materials, including but not limited to: budgets, call sheets, and shot lists. Oversee invoice approval, expense reconciliation, and new vendor onboarding procedures.
  • On-Set & Logistics Management:
    Lead on-set operations: manage crew and talent, maintain schedule, ensure smooth set logistics and effective approvals on set. Ensure the safe handling and return of merchandise, props, and equipment post-shoot. Serve as the key contact for production issues and health and safety. Troubleshoot and adapt in real time.
  • Post-Production & Asset Delivery:
    Supervise post-production workflows: enforce work-backs, manage retouching and video edit feedback, and oversee final asset delivery. Manage, communicate and ensure implementation of all internal and external feedback required on each project. Coordinate with internal teams to archive and distribute content to marketing, web, and editorial stakeholders.
  • Talent Management & Mentorship:
    Direct and mentor the Coordinator, Production & Photo Studio role: delegate tasks, review their deliverables, and foster growth. Ensure the Coordinator effectively supports contract/deal memo preparation, vendor onboarding, on-set support, invoicing, and asset distribution. Manage and report on sick days and personal time off. Guide them through the yearly goal setting process and manage their progress with regular one-on-one check-ins.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • 5+ years in editorial video and/or photo production; end-to-end experience managing large, complex shoots.
  • Proven ability to supervise and coach junior staff and independent contractors, delegate their workload, and maintain high standards.
  • Exceptional multitasking, attention to detail, and ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Apple Systems
  • Basic knowledge of production tools and software is an asset (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite and Capture One)
  • Familiarity with budgeting tools, project management and shoot management platforms a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Able to interface seamlessly with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience securing permits and location agreements; managing studio operations and H&S compliance.
