We are looking for an experienced Studio VFX Supervisor to join our CG leadership team. This is a senior studio-wide role, based in Toronto, supporting CG productions across our studios.

The Studio VFX Supervisor will own CG image quality across productions, working closely with Creative Directors, Show Directors, Art Directors, CG Supervisors, Producers to ensure the approved creative vision is delivered on screen, within agreed schedule, scope and quality expectations.

This role is central to our continued expansion of our CG capability in kids, premium series and feature-level work.

  • To provide studio-wide leadership for the visual execution of Brown Bag’s CG productions, ensuring the approved creative direction is realised consistently to the required quality, scope and production needs.
  • The role helps define how the CG image is realised through cinematography, layout, lighting, rendering, FX and final image. Working closely with Directors, Art Direction, CG Supervisors and Post, the Studio VFX Supervisor provides senior visual leadership appropriate to each production, from preschool through premium television and feature film.

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities:
What you are regularly responsible for doing
  • Lead the Studio VFX function across CG productions in Ireland and Canada.
  • Provide studio-wide visual leadership across layout, cinematography, lighting, rendering, FX, compositing and final image.
  • Support Directors and CG Supervisors in translating storyboards and creative direction into engaging CG staging, composition and camera work.
  • Advise productions on cinematographic approach, including camera language, lens choices, aspect ratio, depth of field, motion blur and other photographic considerations appropriate to the production tier.
  • Establish and maintain the visual quality bar for each production, identifying risks early and supporting practical solutions where additional senior oversight is required.
  • Work with the Head of Lighting, Rendering & FX to ensure departmental workflows, capability and roadmaps support the visual requirements of productions.
  • Work with the Head of 3D to ensure assets, layout workflows and technical foundations support the required visual quality and efficient shot production.
  • Partner with Directors, Art Directors, Head of Art and Post throughout production, including colour management, grading and final-image finishing.
  • Support CG Supervisors and senior CG leads through review, coaching and escalation, strengthening visual supervision across the studio.
  • Support client reviews, pitches and senior creative discussions where VFX expertise is required.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of Unreal Engine, AI and emerging technologies where they improve visual quality or production efficiency.
