- Support advisor clients, Sales, and other internal partners with timely and relevant information.
- Support advisors in the creation, implementation, and review of customized, open‑architecture model portfolios.
- Conduct independent meetings and accompany the sales team in advisor meetings supporting portfolio construction discussions (some travel required).
- Support sales team members on adhoc queries for portfolio construction information and training on Fidelity Portfolio Intelligence.
- Provide insight and expertise in the development of portfolio analysis and construction for Sales.
- Develop strong relationships with Sales and clients resulting in positive feedback and customer loyalty; establish Fidelity Canada as an industry leader in portfolio construction.
- Build, maintain, and communicate an expert‑level knowledge of portfolio construction concepts.
- Identify opportunities to develop and execute portfolio construction strategies that maximize market penetration and increase customer loyalty.
- Partner with Fidelity’s Portfolio Construction team to educate and promote Fidelity’s portfolio construction philosophy, process, performance, and competitive strengths.
- Produce and support development of thought leadership and insights regarding portfolio construction.
- Contribute to asset allocation discussions and investment model portfolio strategy, oversight, and execution.
- Partner with Portfolio Construction team, Sales, advisors, and prospects to contribute to the building of model portfolios.
- Utilize investment tools and market research to discuss recommendations with advisors, including a detailed analysis of risk, return, and diversification for investment portfolios and/or an advisor’s book of business.
- Develop relationships with Fidelity’s Portfolio Construction team to deliver model portfolios to advisors that meet their needs and expectations.
- Review products used within model portfolios to discuss notable changes with clients.
- 5+ years of investment market expertise.
- Completion of a university degree or equivalent work experience.
- Completion of CFA/MBA/CAIA is an asset.
- Canadian asset management or wealth management industry knowledge.
- 3+ years of building or analyzing investment portfolios and an expert level of knowledge on portfolio construction concepts.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage others in a clear and compelling manner.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Ability to successfully articulate detailed mechanics of portfolio construction, investment philosophy, and process.
- Excellent client relationship skills.
- Portfolio construction experience and strong knowledge of Canadian investment products and services.
- Enjoy creating and delivering presentations to large audiences.
- Proven ability to translate superb communication skills into positive interactions and long‑term relationships.
- Have a high need for achievement and seek out every opportunity to create a win‑win situation.
- Base Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Variable compensation plan: participation in a compensation‑based incentive program that rewards results and target achievement.
- RRSP Contribution: after 6 months of employment, a company contribution (no employee match).
