Senior Manager - Tax - Global Compliance and Reporting - Financial Services Group

Role Overview

As a Tax Manager you will be a part of our Financial Services practice. This position offers excellent opportunities for learning and career advancement to the right candidate.

• Lead large and medium sized engagements.
• Plan and organize teams for the preparation of tax returns.
• Conduct and document tax research and advise on planning opportunities, tax compliance strategies, and compliance issues.
• Review work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure engagement team serves planning and compliance needs of clients.
• Work closely with other members of the team on tax technical interpretation work for clients.
• Establish relationships with clients and gain a solid understanding of their business.
• Develop technical skills by staying updated on trends, new developments and tax authority decisions, and apply them to moderately complex situations.
• Identify opportunities for providing tax planning and other special services.
• Support the development and coaching of tax professionals and other junior tax staff members.
• Participate in and contribute to the attainment of team objectives.

• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or law degree.
• Minimum of four years Canadian Corporate tax experience.
• Ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.

• Previous experience dealing with clients within the financial services sector.
• Mature, proactive, committed, highly motivated and driven team player.
