Mortgage Underwriter

Position: Full-Time Mortgage Underwriter
Join First National as a Mortgage Underwriter specializing in Third Party Residential Underwriting. This full-time position based in Toronto focuses on credit evaluations and service excellence.

Reporting to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting, this role involves assessing mortgage applications while adhering to company guidelines. You will maintain relationships with mortgage brokers, gather necessary documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be paramount in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Render credit decisions on incoming applications

• Manage files from commitment to fulfillment

• Establish relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners

• Review documentation for income and property accuracy

• Document notes clearly within the underwriting system

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience

• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent

• Knowledge of PC software in Windows environment

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

• Completion of Mortgage Agent Course is an asset
