Mortgage Underwriter

Position: Full-Time Mortgage Underwriter
Join First National as a full-time Mortgage Underwriter and support third party residential underwriting in Toronto, ON. Deliver exceptional service while managing high volumes of mortgage applications.

In this role, you'll report to the Third Party Residential Underwriting Manager, facilitating relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners. You'll be responsible for reviewing documents, issuing commitments, and ensuring adherence to established policies while evaluating risk accurately. Your problem-solving skills will be essential in maintaining service excellence during tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and adjudicate mortgage applications thoroughly

• Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders

• Issue mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions

• Complete due diligence before approving mortgage documents

• Manage workflow efficiently under pressure

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience

• Post-secondary education or equivalent is required

• Familiarity with mortgage brokerage is an asset

• Excellent analytical and time management abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
