Responsibilities
  • Coordinated marketing activities on behalf of the advisory team, including website, social media initiatives, client recognition for meaningful life events, and the planning of client events.
  • Assisted the advisory team in preparing for client meetings, including scheduling appointments.
  • Handled clients' general day-to-day requests and inquiries including basic money movement (e.g., wires, transfers), technology issues, and account opening and update, and followed up in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Generated reports and documents for IAs and clients as requested and processed items for client accounts and files.
  • Maintained and organized client database and client files.
  • Ensured transactions and tasks were appropriately assigned to team members and completed.
  • Provided team members with support on technology issues, use of new technology, and general inquiries and escalations related to policies, procedures, and processing.
  • Gathered and distributed information on updates to training, guidelines, technology, and other business-related information.
  • Developed rapport and instilled confidence with the client to develop credibility and promote a positive client experience resulting in retaining long-term client relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Assisted with managing a portfolio of clients to retain and grow relationships.
  • Supported IAs in individual client investment needs to provide skilled, customized investment-related advise, sales and services.
  • Worked collaboratively within the market, BMO partners and the community to build relationships and deliver the desired customer experience.
  • Followed through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguarded our customers' assets, maintained their privacy, acted in their best interests, and ensured an effectively run branch.
  • Protected the Bank's assets and clients' assets and complied with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Maintained the confidentiality of client and Bank information.
  • Completed complex & diverse tasks within given rules/limits.
  • Analyzed issues and determined next steps; escalated as required.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Took measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of the role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk-informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents, laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Typically between 1-2 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of wealth management company and branch operations (e.g., client services, trust services, account transfers, etc.) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of traditional (stocks, bonds, money market, mutual funds) and non-traditional (managed and fee-based) products is an asset.
  • Familiarity with technology applications and software used in the financial planning and investment industry.
  • Must meet the Investment Representative licensing with CIRO and certification requirements for the branch / jurisdiction where the mandate is being fulfilled.
  • Basic specialized knowledge.
  • Verbal & written communication skills – Mandarin language skills are an asset.
  • Organization skills – Good.
  • Collaboration & team skills – Good.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills – Good.
Compensation

Base salary for this specific position is $42,400 and this role is eligible to receive monthly discretionary bonus.

Salary range: $33,600.00 - $50,900.00 (Salaried & Commission). This represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
