Position: Senior Credit Solutions Manager, Commercial Agriculture - across locations

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Canadian Business Banking by ensuring that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team's business strategies and objectives while also ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Champions a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Ensures timely analysis, structuring and presentation of credit proposals.
  • Provides prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and presentation of credit proposals.
  • Ensures effective communication with the Senior Client Relationship Manager to clearly convey the rationale for decisions.
  • Recommends pricing for loans and credit‑related fees yielding a return commensurate with risk and due regard to profit, administration and competitive considerations.
  • Recommends terms, conditions and covenants to provide a viable banking proposal within sound credit lending practices.
  • Restructures marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible.
  • Provides guidance and counsel to the Senior Client Relationship Manager to better serve clients' needs.
  • Reviews all authorizations to ensure accuracy, completeness and clarity.
  • Ensures prompt follow‑up for acceptance of authorizations and reacts swiftly to any problems or amendments.
  • Promptly and effectively addresses issues surrounding the adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security.
  • Liaises with the Senior Client Relationship Manager to ensure accurate execution and delivery of authorizations prior to disbursement of funds.
  • Ensures ongoing quality of the credit portfolio through control and administration, adhering to regulatory and internal bank policies.
  • Advises senior management of any credit weakness developing within individual accounts.
  • Provides coaching/counselling to Client Service Associates by developing credit competencies and providing timely performance feedback.
  • Champions and supports a culture of diversity and other initiatives aligned with the Bank Strategy.
  • Understands how the bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of the area, ensuring adequacy of business controls.
  • Champions a high‑performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
Reporting Relationships

Primary Manager:
Director & Group Lead, Client Relationships, Canadian Business Banking.

Direct Reports:
May manage a small number of Client Service Associates.

Dimensions
  • Reviews and completes credits for complex borrowing relationships with authorizations typically +$5 MM.
  • Partners closely with the Senior Client Relationship Manager on deal structuring, negotiation and pricing for new and existing clients within authorization thresholds.
  • Clients are primarily Canadian but may have operations across the country and abroad.
  • Strong organizational skills required to manage data from multiple sources and fulfill client service administration.
Education

University degree in business, economics or related field.

Skills / Experience
  • At least 2–5 years of experience in commercial banking credit.
  • In‑depth knowledge of bank lending policies, procedures and industry trends.
  • Strong risk assessment, credit structuring and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and banking systems.
Working Conditions

Standard office‑based environment; non‑standard hours may occur. No travel required.
