Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned real‑estate valuation professional to join HOOPP, one of the Canada’s leading institutional real‑estate investment owners, developers, and fund investors. Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Valuation and Performance Measurement, the Senior Manager, Real Estate Valuation will serve as a trusted subject‑matter expert in real‑estate valuations across the organization. The Senior Manager provides valuation governance over HOOPP’s $16.4B (net) global portfolio, with oversight across all invested asset classes and geographic markets.

The successful candidate will lead the execution and ongoing enhancement of valuation processes and policies, with a mandate to drive impactful improvements to the governance framework in support of a growing and increasingly complex global portfolio.

What you will do
  • Develop deep expertise of HOOPP’s real‑estate investment holdings, portfolio operations and stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead a team of valuation professionals in executing the full‑cycle appraisal process for the global real‑estate portfolio.
  • Apply technical expertise and market knowledge to challenge and substantiate valuation results to ensure recorded figures reflect an independent and reasonable view of fair value.
  • Oversee reporting deliverables for the Valuation team and drive continuous improvement of reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Lead engagement with external auditors and manage valuation‑related requirements as part of HOOPP’s audit processes.
  • Foster trust and accountability with internal stakeholders as the subject‑matter expert on real‑estate valuations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers and market participants. Remain well informed of market activity, industry trends and technological products and service offerings.
  • Contribute to the evolution of HOOPP’s Real‑Estate valuation policy and play a key role in efforts to drive the consolidation, standardization, harmonization and scalability of best practices across the global portfolio.
  • Support strategic initiatives to enhance process efficiency and data insights, including the implementation of AI and BI tools.
  • Coach and mentor team members through technical training and professional mentorship.
  • Support the Director, Real Estate Valuation and Performance Measurement on strategic priorities and ad‑hoc initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.
What you bring
  • University degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Designated valuation specialist (AACI, MRICS, MAI, etc.).
  • At least 10 years of experience in real‑estate valuation.
  • Prior management experience leading a team and demonstrated success partnering with investment professionals.
  • Highly proficient in Argus Enterprise software and strong MS Office skills.
  • Solid technical knowledge of real‑estate valuation methodology applicable to a global portfolio.
