Job Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Specialist, SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) will be a key member of Brookfield Credit’s growing team and will report to our Director, SPV, within the wider Investment Operations team. The role will support the operational and middle-office functions for Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) and Collateralized Fund Obligation (CFO) portfolios.
The role will also have a high degree of interaction with the Senior Vice President, Investment Operations and other members of the investment team, working directly with them in support of the expansion of BAM Credit and Insurance Solutions Advisors LP. investment portfolio. This role provides a highly motivated individual with a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career within BAM Credit.
The role will be based in Brookfield’s Toronto offices at Brookfield Place.
Responsibilities:
Support trade settlement and life-cycle management across various asset types both public and private within Brookfield SPVs. Assist with trade booking and settlement at various custodians.
Conduct reconciliation of cash and positions, ensuring alignment between our records and administrators.
Monitor compliance with investment restrictions by performing post trade testing and hypothetical testing.
Design ad-hoc reports for special requests from clients or internal requests.
Support onboarding and KYC process with borrowers and trading counterparties.
Work and communicate directly with various teams including investment, legal, accounting, escalating to manager in a timely manner when required.
Collaborate with technology services for integration and process enhancement, while actively participating in system implementation projects for ongoing process improvements
Support in the implementation of complex transactions, product launches, closures and other initiatives
Various special duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
5+ years of experience: CPA/CFA/CAIA designation is preferred.
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other relevant fields is required.
Strong understanding of CLO structures, leveraged finance, capital markets or structured products.
Working knowledge of trade life-cycle processes within Investment Operations / Middle Office related to alternative asset classes, private investments and fixed income.
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex legal/structural documentation and translate it into operational requirements.
Proficient in various settlement and reconciliation processes.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and other office applications (i.e.: Power BI, VBA); experience with other technical software is advantageous.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinker who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, complex and unstructured environment

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000
