Intern, Strategy Analyst – Summer 2027

Location:

161 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This 16‑week internship, from May to August 2027, places interns in the Toronto office where they collaborate with strategy analysts, data scientists, and product managers to solve problems and develop solutions for the credit card division.

• Analyze trends in fraudulent credit card applications and transactions to enhance fraud models and tools, reducing fraud costs and minimizing negative experiences for cardholders.
• Build a framework that evaluates the potential benefits of offering customers a different card than their current one, balancing value against additional costs and credit risk.
• Develop a challenger model to compare against an existing model that predicts customer spending on credit cards, assessing whether a simpler model can capture sufficient business value to justify retiring the complex model.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at an accredited university, with expected graduation in 2027 or later.
• Superior analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Adaptability to a dynamic, ever‑changing environment and openness to new ideas and requirements.

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience or willingness to code in Python, SQL, or other programming languages (training will be provided if required).
• Interest or experience in data modeling, fraud detection, or financial services.

• Hybrid model: up to 3 days in the office plus a one‑time work‑from‑home allowance.
• Full coverage for spouse, domestic partners, and dependents.

• Up to $5,000 in tuition subsidies per year.
• Hourly pay range $23–$43 during the internship.
