OverviewHalmont Properties Corporation is a diversified real estate investment company with a portfolio spanning institutional and commercial real estate, forestry investments, and financial holdings. This is a full‑time position located in downtown Toronto. We are seeking a highly organized and self‑motivated professional to join our private family office team in a hands‑on accounting and operations role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of a diverse set of responsibilities.
This role provides broad financial exposure, including public company reporting, corporate administration, and monitoring investment relationships within a small collaborative office environment.
- Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Maintaining accounting records across multiple asset classes, including holdings in public and privately held companies. - Supporting public company reporting processes and coordinating with external auditors.
- Preparing tax schedules and supporting documentation for external advisors.
- Corporate & Operational Support:
Assisting with corporate administrative matters including banking relationships, maintenance of corporate records, and coordination of securities transfers. - Supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a small professional office.
- Facilitating other operational and administrative requirements.
- Experience with accounting and financial statement preparation, holding or pursuing CPA status.
- Comfortable operating within a small, hands‑on team environment.
- Real estate, investment, and asset management accounting experience is a strong asset.
- Organized and self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- High level of professionalism, with the ability to manage sensitive financial and corporate information with discretion.
- Ability to continuously learn and expand investment knowledge.
- Meaningful responsibilities within a high‑performing team.
- Exposure to a diverse and sophisticated real estate and investment platform.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 CAD. Our compensation structure comprises a base salary and a short‑term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation varies based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
