Senior Corporate Accountant

The company is hiring a Senior Corporate Accountant to support financial reporting across multiple corporate entities within one of Toronto’s most active and fastest-growing real estate developers.

Working closely with the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting you will collaborate with experienced leaders across the organization, including the SVP of Accounting and the Chief Operating Officer. As part of a lean, vertically integrated platform, you will gain exposure to a wide range of business functions such as development, construction, sales, and marketing.

You will play a key role in executing the monthly close, but this role goes beyond core financial reporting duties. You will contribute to key initiatives across tax, treasury management, budgeting and variance analysis, and process and control improvements, while supporting decision-making at the senior level. Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure consistency across reporting entities

Execute monthly close activities, including intercompany reconciliations and account analyses

Prepare accurate calculations and supporting documentation for corporate and project fees, chargebacks, and intercompany billings

Forecast upcoming receipts and expenditures, monitor performance against the annual budget, and deliver monthly insights to support business decision-making

Support year-end activities through coordination with external accountants, including the preparation of schedules and adjustments for assurance engagements and tax filings

Collaborate cross-functionally to support the development of the annual budget across multiple departments

Assist in treasury management activities, including cash positioning and related financial operations

Assist with corporate tax compliance, including preparation of select filings (T2s, T5s, T5013s, Capital Dividend Elections) and supporting schedules

Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to improvements in reporting and controls

Provide financial analysis, and ad hoc support to senior leadership

Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as required

Key Qualifications

CPA designation required

Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field

3+ years of experience in the industry or an accounting firm; corporate accounting experience and a working knowledge of the Income Tax Act are considered strong assets

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Self-starter with a proactive and accountable mindset

Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy

High level of integrity and professionalism

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Flexibility to work beyond core hours when required
