Mortgage Underwriter Associate

Join First National as an Associate Mortgage Underwriter, where you'll analyze mortgage documentation in a high-volume, fast-paced workplace. You'll collaborate with mortgage brokers and external partners to ensure robust underwriting accuracy. This entry-level position reports to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting. Ideal candidates will possess solid analytical skills and demonstrate the ability to build relationships with mortgage brokers, insurers, and appraisers.

Your task will involve document verification, communication regarding mortgage conditions, and maintaining meticulous records within the underwriting system.

• Review documentation for income and property details
• Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
• Interact with brokers for required document submission
• Escalate issues to Underwriters for resolution
• Maintain clear notes in the mortgage underwriting system

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
• Previous financial services experience preferred
• Familiarity with the mortgage industry is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
