We are the leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally. The International Tax Manager will join our rapidly expanding Canadian tax practice focused on inbound and outbound clients, providing international tax consulting and compliance to entities with foreign investors and cross‑border investments.
Responsibilities- Owning and driving successes of multiple engagements across jurisdictions in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrating a strong desire to learn the Income Tax Act, Canadian Income Tax Regulations, CRA rulings, and caselaw, and applying this understanding to complex cross‑border tax issues.
- Providing mentorship, detailed reviews, and training to staff.
- Staying alert to client needs that may result in growth opportunities and communicating them to the broader engagement team.
- Collaborating with RSM colleagues across jurisdictions.
- Promoting new ideas, businesses, and tax solutions that result in extended services to existing clients.
- Developing an understanding of clients’ business to become a functional cross‑border tax expert.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of public accounting experience at a Big 4 or large national/regional/local firm.
- Experience with international tax compliance and consulting, particularly preparing forms T1134, T2 (Schedule 91 returns), surplus computations, FAPI analysis, etc.
- Active completion of one of the following: CPA, JD, or enrolment in an In‑Depth Tax Program in good standing.
- Master’s of Taxation, Law Degree, or enrollment in CPA Canada’s In‑Depth Tax Program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex information and the interpretation of tax laws.
- Demonstrated project‑management skillset capable of handling fast‑moving, complex cross‑border engagements.
Salary range: $84,000 – $143,500. Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
