This is a changing environment, and your ability to excel in ambiguity will be critical. The team you'll join has a strong work ethic and is collaborative and supportive. The Controller oversees all accounting and reporting requirements. This position interfaces closely with all managers and senior management of Corebuild Construction.

• Oversee full‑cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, cash flow management, and monthly progress draws across multiple projects.
• Manage construction job costing, WIP reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Monitor project profitability, cost‑to‑complete, and change orders.
• Oversee subcontractor billing, holdbacks/retainage, lien compliance, and vendor payments.
• Partner with project managers and operations on financial performance and project controls.
• Manage cash flow reporting on a weekly basis.
• Lead accounting staff and improve financial processes and ERP systems.
• Prepare Board‑meeting financial packages.
• Lead audit engagements and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, standardizing processes and improving system compliance.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Finance/Accounting and 5 years in a management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics and a CPA designation.
• Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to undertake research and translate complex information into useful insights.
• Knowledge of Jonas Accounting Software is an asset.
• Prior experience implementing procedures and tools for consolidated financial reporting is ideal.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills to mentor and support the team.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• A self‑starter who can multitask in an efficient and controlled manner with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Team Player – possesses good interpersonal skills with ability to work well with others.
