Pension Clerk – CUPE Local 1328, OCT
Grade 6: $ 2,449.34 - $2,717.84 biweekly
We are seeking a full‑time Pension Clerk within the Benefits & Compensation department of the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Qualifications:- Two (2)–year College Diploma in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year experience in pension administration; OMERS experience preferred
- Proven mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Access, etc.) and database applications
- Experience with SAP HR/Payroll system advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a deadline‑oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Facilitate and process OMERS enrolment, termination, disability, and retirement life‑cycle events
- Calculate cost for pension service buy‑back and adjust pension credits for employees as required
- Process collection of monthly contributions, reconcile, and remit to OMERS
- Conduct scheduled payroll audits and reconcile payroll deductions
- Calculate and process monthly OMERS remittance within limited time frame to avoid late penalty charges
- Validate pension contributions, pensionable earnings and credited service for bi‑weekly payroll runs by analyzing payroll clusters, remuneration statements and reports
- Identify discrepancies in contributions, pensionable earnings, and credited service on SAP
- Assist with testing of configuration changes
- Respond to OMERS and/or plan member enquiries by researching historical records and data
- Process year‑end audits and reconcile with OMERS, investigating and rectifying discrepancies as required (Form 119)
- Schedule and prioritize reporting activities to meet legal reporting requirements (e.g., T4s)
- Use the OMERS e‑access online administrative tool for plan administration; implement required changes on SAP and OMERS e‑access
- Respond to enquiries regarding OMERS and group benefits information
- Facilitate the distribution of annual pension statements
- Assist with departmental projects and peak workload as required
- Conduct retirement meetings with members
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
