Experienced Mortgage Underwriter

Position: Experienced Mortgage Underwriter Role
Support home ownership aspirations as an experienced Mortgage Underwriter in the Excalibur department at First National. This role involves assessing mortgage applications for clients outside traditional credit norms.

As a key professional in this position, you will analyze various profiles and documents provided by mortgage brokers to make informed credit decisions. You will engage in negotiations around loan terms to meet the needs of both brokers and clients while ensuring compliance with internal policies. Your organizational skills will play a significant role in prioritizing tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate mortgage applications for approval decisions

• Review employment, credit, and property documentation

• Negotiate favorable loan terms with stakeholders

• Input conditions and documentation into the underwriting system

• Generate and issue mortgage commitments accurately

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years in mortgage underwriting

• Competent in MS Office and technology learning

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong independent and team-oriented work ethic

• Communication skills for client interactions
