Job Overview
Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Hours:
37.5 per week.
Pay Range: $96,900 - $136,800 CAD. This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award.
- Manage income tax accounting, reporting, and forecasting for assigned Canadian entities.
- Lead or assist with shareholder disclosures and capital reporting/analysis.
- Review current and future tax provisions, effective tax rate analyses, and tax journal entries for assigned entities.
- Manage tax GL analyses and ensure GL continuity in compliance with internal attestation requirements.
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including income tax returns, tax instalment payments, and tax audits.
- Lead or assist with tax planning and advisory initiatives.
- Maintain SOX and standard operating procedure documentation and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Partner with Finance and business segments to improve income tax processes, strengthen controls, and drive efficiencies.
- Support business partners by providing timely, insightful analyses that inform decision‑making and business growth.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor staff to support team effectiveness and professional development.
- Work is blended with collaborative and individual deliverables; expected onsite presence is 4 days per week.
- Professional designation such as CPA or MBA, with relevant accounting and/or tax experience.
- Completion of the CPA Canada In‑Depth Tax Program is preferred.
- 5+ years of demonstrated income tax experience, including tax accounting and tax compliance.
- Highly flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills; ability to articulate messages verbally and in writing and to demonstrate active listening.
- Strong people leadership skills, capable of leading, developing, and motivating a team of professionals.
- Organized, self‑motivated, and customer‑oriented; able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
