Actuary Manager for UPP

Elevate your actuarial career with UPP as a Manager, Actuary in Toronto. This pivotal role provides leadership in pension administration and actuarial analysis.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Actuary, you will oversee actuarial tasks encompassing both pension administration and core actuarial services. Your expertise will guide the team while ensuring accurate calculations and interpretations. Key responsibilities include supporting actuarial modeling, mentoring team members, and enhancing operational efficiencies in pension processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee non-routine pension calculations and complex member scenarios

• Manage actuarial analysis for funding and valuation assumptions

• Support governance and validation of actuarial administration processes

• Provide mentorship and leadership to actuarial team members

• Collaborate on integrated actuarial analyses across departments

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science or related field

• ASA/ACIA required; progress toward FSA/FCIA preferred

• 6-9 years in pension actuarial roles, including mentorship

• Proficiency in MS Excel and actuarial software like Pro Val

• Familiarity with Ontario pension legislation and CIA standards
