Position: Scotiabank Risk Associate - Global Markets
Contribute to Scotiabank’s operational risk management as an Associate in the Global Banking and Markets division located in Toronto, Ontario. Oversee trading activities while addressing key operational risks.

In this role, you will assist in monitoring trading and sales, documenting procedures, and reporting key findings to management. Your focus will include ensuring compliance with the GBM Operational Risk Management Framework while providing support for training and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in oversight of trading management

• Update and draft Written Supervisory Procedures

• Ensure compliance with position limits on trading

• Uphold the GBM Operational Risk Management Framework

• Provide necessary training on controls to trading teams

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of risk management experience required

• In-depth knowledge of financial instruments and capital markets

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Completion of financial regulatory exams within the first year
