Engage in impactful economic research with the Ontario Securities Commission as an Economist. Contribute to policy analysis and market trends through quantitative and qualitative methods in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
In this role within the EMA Department, you will support OSC's regulatory strategy through rigorous data collection and analysis. You will evaluate complex research questions and provide insights to inform decision-makers on important operational initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills to produce technical reports and communicate findings effectively to varied stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive research initiatives for internal policy and operations
• Analyze complex data and summarize findings with minimal review
• Collaborate with team members to tackle common analytical challenges
• Design research studies and identify relevant data sources
• Present findings to OSC staff and stakeholders effectively
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or a quantitative discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services or research
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Understanding of financial markets and Canadian securities regulations
