The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.
This mandate is performed through policy, operational, and enforcement activities. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development.

The Investment Management Division is responsible for regulatory engagement with investment fund managers and portfolio managers. It oversees the regulation of investment funds offering securities in Ontario. Our role is crucial in fulfilling the OSC’s mandate of providing investor protection and fostering confidence in the capital markets. We aim to deliver effective regulatory actions while ensuring our framework remains responsive to evolving needs, risks, and practices.
We lead the development of new rules and policies within the OSC and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) to adapt to the changing investment fund and asset management industry. We recognize the importance of fostering innovation to enhance the investor experience.
The Investment Management Division is currently recruiting for a Senior CPA to join the team to play an integral role in ensuring investor protection and supporting confidence in the capital markets. The Senior CPA will be involved in oversight and risk & analytics related to the regulation investment funds, portfolio managers, and investment fund managers.
