Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands on Controller to lead the accounting and finance function for a growing real estate investment and property management organization.

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting packages
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes
• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate policies
• Oversee property accounting activities, including CAM recoveries, tax recoveries, tenant reconciliations, and annual chargebacks
• Manage accounting related to property acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions
• Prepare lender, investor, ownership, and partnership reporting packages
• Maintain mortgage schedules, cash flow forecasts, and real estate investment reporting
• Work closely with Property Managers and Asset Managers to support operational and financial objectives
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
• Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and efficiencies across the finance function
• Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and business growth opportunities

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Experience with in real estate, property management, development, or a related industry preferred
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
