As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing general ledger accounts, preparing annual financial statements, and helping to implement new PSAS guidelines. The role requires significant experience in municipal accounting, as well as the ability to support decision-making through detailed financial analysis. You’ll also play an essential role in staff supervision, training, and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial data to ensure compliance with PSAS
• Prepare management and financial reports for decision-making
• Guide stakeholders on accounting best practices
• Develop and implement training for city staff
• Supervise projects and maintain effective internal controls
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification
• Considerable experience in municipal accounting
• Familiarity with PSAS and internal controls
• Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency
• Analytical skills with effective communication abilities
