Position Overview
Join Munich Re’s Global Actuarial Consulting Group (GACG) and work at the center of complex, high‑impact actuarial work that supports our global life and health reinsurance business. GACG acts as an internal consulting group, partnering with teams across regions to solve some of the most interesting actuarial, financial, and strategic challenges in the organization.

This role offers breadth, visibility, and growth. You’ll work across markets such as Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Germany, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and contribute to projects that influence pricing, risk management, and financial outcomes at a global level.

Your Role

Lead projects and work streams, from planning through delivery.

Develop and enhance actuarial and financial models for life and health reinsurance solutions across different regions.

Support pricing analysis for new and existing reinsurance opportunities.

Perform experience studies and help set actuarial assumptions.

Conduct valuation and financial reporting under multiple accounting and regulatory bases.

Analyze and visualize data to clearly communicate insights to actuarial and non‑actuarial stakeholders.

Support risk analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis of financial results.

Contribute to industry research, surveys, and publications.

Assist global teams through ad‑hoc projects and occasional short‑term secondments.

Present findings and recommendations to internal clients and Munich Re leadership.

Provide guidance, manage workload and review the work of junior members of the team.

Grow into a people manager, providing feedback and having development conversations with junior members of the team.

Your Profile

University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.

FSA/FCIA designation, held for at least one year.

5+ years of actuarial experience in life and/or health insurance or reinsurance.

Demonstrates a clear leadership mindset by taking ownership of outcomes, anticipating stakeholder needs, and guiding discussions toward practical solutions.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

A connector who builds strong, trust‑based relationships across teams and stakeholders, enabling smooth collaboration even in complex, cross‑functional settings.

Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

Experience with actuarial or analytical tools such as AXIS, SQL, and/or Python.

Exposure to multiple markets or accounting frameworks.

Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.

Salary
Our base salary range for this role is between  $140,000 and $186,000 per year , plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.

This role is located in our  Toronto office on 390 Bay St , and we operate in a  hybrid work model . This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
