Position: Mortgage Underwriter Role
Join First National as an Associate Mortgage Underwriter in Toronto, ON, and play a vital role in the mortgage underwriting process. Review documentation meticulously while fostering partnerships with mortgage brokers.

Reporting to the Manager of Third-Party Residential Underwriting, this full-time role is critical in ensuring that all documentation meets internal and regulatory standards. Your efforts will directly impact the accuracy of credit decisions, as you’ll interact closely with borrowers and external partners. This position demands a detail-oriented approach to identifying any potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish positive relationships with brokers and external partners

• Review documents related to income and property assessments

• Escalate significant documentation issues as necessary

• Keep detailed records within the mortgage underwriting system

• Ensure adherence to AML requirements

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education or relevant work experience

• Financial Services experience preferred

• Background in the Mortgage industry beneficial

• Mortgage Agent Course completion an asset

• Solid knowledge of Windows PC software
