Pay Details$110,000 - $150,000 CAD. This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance. Base pay may vary based on candidate's skills, experience, job‑related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
Job DescriptionTD Asset Management (TDAM) is a leading North American investment manager. The Fundamental Equities team manages long‑only Canadian, U.S., International and global equity portfolios for institutional, high‑net‑worth and retail clients. An Associate will join the team, reporting to a Co‑Lead of the Fundamental Equities Research team.
Responsibilities- Conducting in‑depth financial analysis on companies and industries to identify investment opportunities suitable for TDAM portfolios.
- Developing and presenting investment ideas through written reports and presentations to investment and client‑facing teams.
- Owning a sector by maintaining thorough and consistent research coverage, including proposing new investment ideas and recommending portfolio exits.
- Building and maintaining relationships with company management and industry counter parties to strengthen research insights and support investment decision‑making.
- Attending industry conferences and seminars to gather insights and stay current on market trends.
- A passion toward public equity markets, supported by a personal and/or professional track record of investment research, market engagement, or portfolio involvement.
- Ability to work independently with no supervision toward clear objectives with ambiguous waypoints.
- Exceptional analytical and modeling capabilities, underpinned by intellectual curiosity and a passion for uncovering investment insights.
- Ability to work under pressure on time‑sensitive and sometimes unpredictable developments.
- Comfortable managing relationships and prioritizing demanding workloads with numerous portfolio manager stakeholders.
- Ability to distill and convey complex financial and fundamental information to a generalist audience.
- We welcome applicants with 2–8 years of experience in capital markets.
- Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, MBA or related fields is preferred.
- CFA designation or working toward a CFA designation.
Position will be filled as an Analyst, Associate or VP depending on experience level.
