Economic Analyst Position at OSC

Drive economic research initiatives at the Ontario Securities Commission as an Economic Analyst. Your expertise will inform critical regulatory strategies and enhance market understanding through advanced data analysis.

As part of the EMA Department, you will conduct thorough analyses of market trends and policy issues. This role involves collaborating with a motivated team to address complex research questions using a variety of quantitative techniques. Your findings will guide the OSC’s strategy and help protect investor interests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze policy issues through rigorous quantitative and qualitative research

• Compile and interpret data to support OSC’s regulatory framework

• Develop reports and presentations based on research outcomes

• Participate in the design of innovative research studies

• Communicate complex findings to diverse audiences effectively

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or a related field

• 2+ years relevant experience in financial analysis or research

• Strong programming and data visualization skills in Python/R

• Experience with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg

• Ability to communicate technical details clearly and succinctly
