Position: Experienced Financial Officer - CIFAR
CIFAR is hiring a Senior Financial Officer in a hybrid capacity, emphasizing accuracy in financial reporting. This 14-month contract role supports mission-driven research initiatives.

In this position, you will join CIFAR's Finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance. Your analytical prowess will be vital in ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance during a parental leave contract. Engage in both operational tasks and enhancements to financial systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile monthly financial statements and detailed analyses

• Review budget versus actual financial performance

• Manage researcher compensation and oversee financial processes

• Facilitate audits and compliance with governmental standards

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within Finance

Requirements:

• Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or similar

• At least five years of relevant accounting practice

• Expertise in accounting software and advanced spreadsheet skills

• Exceptional communication and analytical abilities

• Strong focus on detail and accuracy
