As part of a growing Commercial team, the Associate, Special Loans and Restructuring will assist the Special Loans team with the management and oversight of the Commercial portfolio of delinquent and problem accounts, comprised of all Commercial lending products. The role provides direct support to the Associate Director, Special Loans on day‑to‑day portfolio management and reporting, including preparing/reviewing reports, attending meetings, monitoring portfolios, executing projects, and handling administrative duties.
Core Responsibilities- Manage active loans: review loan data and prepare reporting (40%) – includes preparing and reviewing critical reports such as monthly provision, delinquency & arrears, quarterly problem loan, bi‑weekly Watchcall, and ad‑hoc reports.
- Process Commercial delinquency: contact clients and partners, perform due diligence, recommend arrangements, submit risk ratings, and update systems (25%).
- Support Account Managers: collect documentation, review due diligence, support legal actions, enter system data, perform basic financial analysis, and prioritize tasks (25%).
- Lead departmental projects: develop new reports, conduct analysis, test systems, complete audits, monitor compliance, and develop pipeline activities (10%).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial banking or commercial mortgage lending.
- Understanding of mortgage enforcement remedies across Canada (asset).
- Strong attention to detail, time‑management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self‑starter capable of independent and team work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and business sense.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
