Job DescriptionThe Analyst, Loan Servicing, is responsible for the Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting for the Mortgage and Real Estate portfolios of our Credit and Insurance clients. The position is key to successfully facilitating a SOC 1 controlled environment and will be a key contributor of our growing credit operations team and will report to the Director, Mortgage Loan Servicing. The role will be based out of our Toronto, ON office located at Brookfield Place.
Responsibilities- Support the onboarding and setup of residential and commercial mortgage loans within servicing systems.
- Process daily loan servicing transactions, including borrower payments, adjustments, and loan status updates.
- Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy and enter data into internal systems.
- Maintain and update loan records to ensure data integrity across platforms.
- Perform basic reconciliations of mortgage-related accounts and elevate discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor loan activity and identify exceptions, assisting with resolution of routine servicing issues.
- Prepare and distribute standard reports related to loan balances, payments, and activity.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (servicing, accounting, underwriting, and customer support) to support daily operations.
- Communicate with external parties (borrowers, correspondents, and vendors) to obtain documentation and resolve routine inquiries.
- Assist with audit requests, quality control reviews, and documentation gathering.
- Maintain organized records of loan files and servicing activity.
- Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy and processing efficiency and share feedback with management.
- Perform additional operational and administrative support tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, real estate, or a related field (or equivalent internship/work experience).
- 1–2 years of experience in mortgage servicing, loan operations, banking, or financial services.
- Proficiency in Aladdin, Precision LM, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of residential and/or commercial mortgage products is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review documents and input data.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain compliance with internal controls.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and elevate appropriately.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.
- Self‑motivated, dependable, and eager to develop within mortgage operations.
