Associate Mortgage Underwriter

Join First National as a dedicated Associate Mortgage Underwriter in Toronto. This full time role emphasizes credit approvals and meticulous documentation review in the mortgage industry. In this position within the Third Party Residential Underwriting team, you will drive the underwriting process by ensuring accuracy and completeness in all documentation.

Building and managing relationships with mortgage brokers is essential, and you will be responsible for maintaining detailed notes and escalating any documentation issues as needed.

• Review underwriting documents thoroughly for accuracy
• Manage and nurture relationships with mortgage brokers
• Escalate documentation accuracy issues promptly
• Maintain comprehensive notes in the mortgage system
• Ensure compliance with AML policies throughout tasks

• Relevant post‑secondary education or equivalent experience
• Financial Services background preferred
• Knowledge of the mortgage industry is an asset
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Solid time‑management and attention to detail
