Our Canadian operations are currently looking for a motivated team player to join us as a Research Associate with our Metals & Mining team in Toronto.

Responsibilities
  • Provide research support to the Research Analyst.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models.
  • Conduct company, industry and macro-economic research.
  • Coordinate, generate and maintain presentations and databases.
  • Work with the Analyst to derive compelling sector views and company investment theses.
  • Assist in the writing of company and sector reports.
  • Develop relationships with covered companies, the internal sales desks, and institutional investors.
  • Support and answer institutional client queries.
  • Coordinate special projects, presentations and initiatives as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • A post-secondary degree in Engineering (preferably in Mining), Accounting, Finance or Geology.
  • CFA / CPA designation or path toward completion an asset.
  • 2 to 3 years of post-secondary work experience with exposure to the Mining sector.
  • MBA would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated interest in public companies and markets.
  • Direct experience with, and a solid understanding of, financial modeling & valuation analysis.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bloomberg / Fact Set proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to create high-quality deliverables while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Solid work ethic with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work long hours under deadline pressure and to show initiative.
