Associate Mortgage Underwriter

Join First National as an Associate Mortgage Underwriter in Toronto, ON. Support mortgage brokers by ensuring due diligence and accuracy in documentation for residential lending.

In this full-time role, you'll report to the Manager, Third Party Residential Underwriting. Key responsibilities include building relationships with mortgage brokers, reviewing documentation accuracy, and adhering to regulatory guidelines. Your analytical skills will play a crucial role as you manage documentation issues and ensure compliance with AML requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish strong relationships with mortgage brokers

• Review and verify documentation for mortgage commitments

• Escalate issues to the Underwriter for resolution

• Document notes within the underwriting system

• Respond to inquiries promptly within turnaround times

Requirements:

• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent experience

• Experience in Financial Services and Mortgage industry preferred

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required

• Completion of Mortgage Agent Course an asset

• Ability to work under pressure in high volume situations
