Picton Mahoney Asset Management (PICTON Investments) is a Canada‑based, employee‑owned investment firm that focuses on alternative investments. We manage $19.3 billion of assets for institutional and retail clients and are committed to delivering results and innovation.

We are looking to hire a proactive, detail‑oriented Associate to support our Investment Counselors in day‑to‑day operations, client service, and portfolio administration.

The role is based in Toronto or Vancouver and offers a competitive salary of $60,000–$70,000 plus discretionary bonus and equity ownership opportunities.

Location

Toronto or Vancouver – candidates from either market are welcome.

Responsibilities Client Service
  • Manage end-to-end client onboarding, documentation and account setup.
  • Support Investment Counselors in preparing for meetings, proposals and reviews.
  • Attend client meetings as required and maintain detailed records and meeting notes.
  • Address client inquiries with urgency and professionalism.
  • Produce recurring and ad‑hoc client reports.
  • Contribute ideas to improve the overall client experience and drive service excellence.
Portfolio Administration
  • Reconcile daily prices, positions and transactions across trading and custodial platforms.
  • Support account activity including openings, deposits, withdrawals and asset transfers.
  • Assist with monitoring and rebalancing client portfolios; ensure timely and accurate trade execution.
  • Maintain security master data and review corporate actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize workflows and enhance operational processes.
Compliance
  • Coordinate with Compliance to ensure timely review and approval of account documentation.
  • Ensure all activities align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records.
  • Monitor potential risks and elevate issues as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally in investment or wealth management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; VBA skills are an asset.
  • Familiarity with wealth management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, relationship management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑starter with a collaborative spirit and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Fluency in French is an asset (but not mandatory).
