Overview
The Model Development Team at Fitch Ratings is seeking a quantitative analyst based in our New York and Toronto offices. The role focuses on structured finance models, including ABS, CMBS, RMBS, and Structured Credit, developed for the credit rating process.

Responsibilities

Customize models to support ongoing deal flow for new complex financial transactions.

Collaborate with ratings teams to build and maintain models that apply relevant rating criteria accurately, robustly, and efficiently.

Research, design, implement, and enhance models; conduct comprehensive testing and prepare model documentation.

Contribute to team initiatives such as training, research projects, and user/client support.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Financial Engineering.

Programming and model development experience in Python or Excel/VBA.

What Would Make You Stand Out

Prior experience in credit risk or financial/cash‑flow modelling, including Excel/VBA/Python exposure.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.

Ability to solve problems using critical, rational, and creative thinking.

Self‑motivated with ability to manage timelines across multiple projects.

Strong work ethic and proven team player.

Compensation
Expected base pay: $100,000 – $115,000 per year, depending on education, training, and experience. Total compensation may include bonus opportunities, long‑term incentives, and other benefits.
