CIBC is seeking a Director of Special Loans in Toronto to manage high-risk accounts in Corporate and Commercial Banking. Leverage your leadership and negotiation skills to mitigate losses and restore loan performance.
In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Senior Director and oversee portfolio activities for high-risk accounts. Expect to engage in complex restructuring situations while collaborating with senior executives and legal professionals. Your expertise will drive asset recovery efforts and enhance client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage impaired loans and maximize asset recovery
• Provide mentorship across the Special Loans unit
• Act as client manager for high-risk portfolios
• Analyze and negotiate terms of loan restructurings
• Monitor compliance with risk management standards
Requirements:
• Degree in business or a related discipline
• Experience in credit risk management and negotiation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of insolvency practices in Canada/US
• Ability to analyze complex financial data
