Underwriter for Commercial Real Estate at VCIB

Vancity Community Investment Bank seeks an Underwriter for Commercial Real Estate to enhance its portfolio with values-aligned projects. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model and focuses on real estate finance expertise.

In this permanent role, you will support loan management for market rental housing, affordable housing, and green buildings. You will leverage your experience in credit underwriting and portfolio management, collaborating with a diverse team of purpose-driven individuals. Your expertise will directly contribute to advancing sustainable real estate solutions for our members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct underwriting analysis for commercial mortgage transactions

• Review risks and complete due diligence on transactions

• Prepare commitment letters and client-facing documentation

• Complete loan renewals and annual reviews

• Ensure adherence to commercial credit policies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field

• Minimum of 5 years in real estate financing

• Strong analytical skills in commercial credit underwriting

• Knowledge of social purpose and sustainable real estate

• Effective communication skills
