Actuarial Consultant in Research & Development

Join Wawanesa as an Actuarial Consultant in the hybrid Pricing Research and Development team. Contribute your expertise in actuary methodologies and model enhancements to optimize pricing for clients across Canada.
As an Actuarial Consultant at Wawanesa, you will work both in the office and remotely, focusing on refining loss cost models to inform rate changes.

Your role includes supporting data analysis, identifying process improvements, and mentoring junior actuarial staff. This position is open to both Consultant and Senior Consultant levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and manipulate complex data from various sources

• Evaluate processes for efficiency and recommend improvements

• Develop automation solutions for routine tasks

• Lead projects from initiation to completion

• Mentor and guide actuarial analysts in their development
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field

• 6+ years of actuarial experience preferred

• Familiarity with machine learning modeling

• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences

• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
