Associate Director, Private Markets
Job Description What is the opportunity?
The Associate Director, Private Markets Strategy develops and executes RBC’s private markets strategy for UHNW clients, Family Offices, and Enterprise Strategic Clients. Working collaboratively across Capital Markets, Commercial Banking & Wealth Management, you’ll identify and evaluate private market investment opportunities aligned with sophisticated client objectives. As a strategic partner to coverage teams, you’ll provide institutional-quality investment insights, support complex client conversations, and deliver differentiated private investment solutions across the enterprise.
WhatYou’ll Do Private Markets
- Lead the development and execution of RBC’s private markets strategy for Enterprise Clients and Family Offices
- Evaluate Private Equity, private credit, infrastructure, real assets, venture capital, hedge funds, secondaries, and bespoke investment opportunities
- Partner with RBC business lines such as Global Investment Banking - Capital Markets, Corporate Client Group, RBCX to identify, curate, and facilitate client participation in investment opportunities
- Work with relationship managers and coverage teams to identify private market opportunities aligned with client objectives
- Serve as a subject matter expert on private markets across Wealth Management
- Build strong partnerships across Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Global Asset Management, Legal, Compliance, and Risk
- Coordinate cross-enterprise delivery of private investment opportunities while ensuring regulatory and governance compliance
- Monitor global private capital markets and identify emerging trends, sectors, managers, and thematic opportunities
- Develop thought leadership and investment content to support client engagement
- Support the development of institutional-quality portfolio analytics and reporting What You Need to Succeed Must-Haves
- 7+ years’ experience in private markets, investment banking, institutional asset management, family office, or alternative investments
- Strong understanding of Private Equity, private credit, infrastructure, venture capital, secondaries, and co-investments
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex investment concepts
- Bachelor’s degree required; CIRO licensing or ability to obtain
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business lines without direct authority
- Strong commercial mindset with experience in business development and strategic client relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver under pressure
- Experience leading technology or reporting transformation initiatives
