About the RoleATB Cormark Capital Markets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Banking Vice President to join our Mining group in Toronto. Our Mining Investment Banking team combines leading advisory & technical capabilities with deep sector knowledge to serve mining companies across the entire mining lifecycle. In this role, you will play a critical part in execution, client service and idea generation across various projects in advisory and equity capital markets.

Mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and private equity transactions

Equity capital, debt capital and financial markets

Corporate banking, loan syndications and project finance

Institutional sales and trading

Institutional research to leverage industry and sector insightATB Cormark’s Mining Team is a top-ranked advisor and underwriter in the metals and mining sector. Over the past 5 years, the Mining Investment Banking Team has advised on mergers & acquisitions with an aggregate value of $20+ billion and participated in transactions raising $15+ billion for mining companies.

Accountabilities Primary duties consist of, but are not limited to:

Play a leadership role in our goal of providing superior transaction execution for our clients

Lead M&A and financing transactions through execution, including due diligence, preparing and reviewing analysis and presenting recommendations to clients and colleagues

Lead client meetings with confidence, presenting strategic recommendations, financial analysis, and transaction structures directly to company executives and Boards of Directors Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of clients, including building new and manipulating existing financial models

Assist in generating pitch ideas, conducting market and financial research and leading production of analysis and presentations

Manage day-to-day process-related communications with clients on live mandates

Train, mentor, and supervise analysts and associates on day-to-day deliverables

Monitor capital markets and sector specific activity

Skills, Experience & Requirements5-7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, preferably focused on mining & metals

Investment banking experience that demonstrates an active role in lead-managed M&A and capital raises, especially closed transactions is considered a strong asset

Strong leadership skillset with excellent written/verbal communication skills and a team-first, self-starter approach

Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem solving and financial modelling skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and industry research platforms (e.g. Capital IQ, Fact Set, Bloomberg)
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality
