The Controller is accountable for the integrity of B&R's financial operations. This role translates strategic direction into the systems, controls, and team that keep B&R’s books accurate, financial insights visible, and the close deadlines on schedule.

As Controller, you lead the Finance team day to day, directly managing our financial analysts. Reporting to the CFO, and supporting the management team, you own the systems and data behind our financial reporting and steward the company's financial records and internal controls.

This is not a purely compliance-focused role. Financial controls and reporting are foundational, but the real opportunity is financial insight, process and AI-driven optimization, and being a visible business partner across departments. You own our core systems hands-on, including Business Central, our tour operations platform, and expense management software, in addition to acting as finance's partner to our technology team as we invest further in automation.

The ideal candidate is a designated accountant who is genuinely tech- and AI-forward, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings the energy and curiosity to grow with B&R over the long term. You build systems as readily as you run them, and you want a seat close to the action.

• Own the overall financial reporting of B&R, including month-end and year-end entries, financial statements, and management reports.
• Steward company assets through robust internal controls and disciplined budget monitoring, maintaining and improving financial procedures and controls.
• Prepare departmental budgets and cash forecasts; monitor, analyze, and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Co-ordinate year-end audits with external auditors.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, and accounts payable functions.
• Own trip-level cost accrual and profitability reporting with the operations team, creating margin visibility by trip and segment.
• Own intercompany elimination and consolidation logic between B&R Inc. (Canada, USD) and B&R France (EUR).
• Maintain TICO trust reporting and reserve compliance.

• Help develop and actively support the company's strategic plans.
• Monitor company financial performance, proactively surfacing insights, risks, and opportunities to management.
• Identify cost-saving and overhead reduction opportunities across the business.
• Build working relationships across departments to provide meaningful financial guidance.
• Support the CFO in executing the company's financial plan, including ad hoc analysis and financial modelling.

• Act as finance's hands-on system owner for financial data and reporting logic, administering workflows and protecting data integrity.
• Champion AI tools, automation, and modern financial technology to improve the accuracy, speed, and scalability of accounting.
• Partner with B&R's technology function on finance's data requirements for integrations across our ERP, tour operations, and payment platforms.
• Replace manual processes such as reconciliations and revenue adjustments with documented, auditable workflows.
• Build and maintain KPI and trip-profitability dashboards that give leadership self-serve visibility in place of manual reporting.
• Directly manage B&R's finance team day to day, including workload, priorities, and mentorship.
• Conduct performance reviews, monitor attendance and vacation, and identify training opportunities.
