SAP S​/HANA Finance; FI) Controlling; CO) Consultant

Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4

HANA Finance (FI) Controlling (CO) Consultant to join their project immediately and will run for 3 months with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of SAP experience as a consultant, including 1 or 2 full projects involving S/4

HANA and conversions from ECC to S/4

HANA. This will be a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end configuration and implementation of SAP S/4
  
  HANA Finance modules, ensuring system setup aligns with business processes, industry standards, and project timelines.
• Own the setup, maintenance, and governance of master data and reference data, including GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and functional areas, to ensure consistency and accuracy across the finance landscape.
• Drive the configuration of multi-GAAP accounting frameworks, enabling compliant financial reporting across multiple legal entities, jurisdictions, and regulatory requirements (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP).
• Design and implement Controlling (CO) and Management Accounting components, including cost element accounting, cost center accounting, internal order settlement, activity-based costing, and profitability analysis (CO-PA) to support robust managerial reporting.
• Collaborate closely with finance and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical system configurations, conducting workshops, gathering business needs, and validating design decisions through prototyping and testing.
• Lead data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities during the ECC-to-S/4
  
  HANA conversion, ensuring seamless mapping, cleansing, and loading of master and transactional data with full audit trail and zero data loss.
• Apply prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector to address industry-specific finance requirements, including regulatory reporting (e.g., IFRS 9, Basel), financial close optimization, intercompany accounting, and treasury-related configurations.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
