Responsibilities
Lead the proposal, planning and execution of corporate finance engagements, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital-raising transactions.Manage end-to-end M&A processes, including market research, target identification, buyer outreach, negotiations, and transaction execution.Lead the delivery of private placement and syndication of financing, including debt, junior capital, and equity.Conduct regular meetings with clients to review financial and operational results and prepare strategic M&A related performance and to develop strategic, M&A related plans.Collaborate with and attend meetings with lawyers, bankers, investors, wealth advisors, and other advisors, as required.Identify competitive dynamics, industry trends, and key performance indicators on both a macro and micro level specific to the target market.Prepare and review technical analysis, financial projections, forecasts and models.Design and develop high-quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports, investment memoranda, presentations and correspondence.Manage engagement economics, including planning, scheduling, budgets, budgets, WIP, billing, and collection.Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop.Maintain high quality standards and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business.Actively network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals.Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.Maintain flexibility to travel, as required.Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in a related field is considered an assetCPA designationCBV or CFA designation is considered an asset5 to 6+ years of professional services experience in M&A or corporate financeExperience in the transaction advisory services sector assisting clients with due diligence services relating to merger, acquisition or capital raising effortsExtensive experience in financial analysis and modelingExperience in business and practice developmentStrong communication, management, relationship building, and leadership skills
