PATRON SERVICES SUPERVISORS AT THE FOUR SEASONS CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts (FSCPA) is a 2000-seat performance venue in the heart of downtown Toronto. The Four Seasons Centre is the home of the Canadian Opera Company and the performance venue of The National Ballet of Canada, and hosts a variety of other events including galas, meetings, corporate functions, film screenings, and social events. We are now accepting applications for the position of part-time Patron Services Supervisor at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
OVERVIEW
Working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and/or Front of House Manager, this position will be responsible for delivering and overseeing service excellence to our Patrons and Guests during performances and events. They will supervise Front of House and Bars/Concessions during performances and oversee events in cooperation with the Facility Management and Event Planning departments.
This is an in-person position in a fast-paced environment. The weekly schedule will fluctuate depending on the calendar of performances and events, but we ask for a minimum commitment of 3 shifts/week, averaging 15 – 20 hours/week. Actual shifts will be based on business needs, and are mostly evenings and weekends, with an opportunity to work daytime matinees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate and exemplify service excellence at all public-facing touch points
- Coach, train, and support all Patron Services colleagues throughout their shifts, including staff briefings
- Responding to customer service situations as they occur, ensuring timely de-escalations and solutions
- Collaborate with operational leadership within the Four Seasons Centre to ensure and fortify building readiness and event standards
- Inspect and oversee spaces from set-up to strike, ensuring all in-house and rental equipment, product, furniture, and smallwares are ready for service
- Oversee set-up and strike of bar and concession services, taking a hands-on approach
- Ensure that event spaces are clean and closed at the end of the shift.
- Uphold compliance with house policies, government agencies, guidelines, and best practices for venue health and safety
- Cash handling and product management, including the preparation of the daily sales report.
- Review and prepare Performance planning documents and supervise both the FOH and F&B team members appropriately (up to 35 people daily).
- Complete end-of-shift reports.
- Other administrative duties include counting inventory, entering timesheets, and ordering products.
- Additional job duties, as business needs require.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in front of house, food & beverage service, hospitality, and/or events-related roles. A combination of customer service experience, and and aptitude as a team lead are preferred.

- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to provide supportive feedback for entry-level staff to ensure all service objectives are surpassed.

- The ability to foster/maintain professional, positive and effective interactions with others.
- The ability to remain calm, as well as make others at ease, feel more confident/positive in stressful situations; combined with the ability to make appropriate decisions quickly.
- Attention to detail, time-management skills combined with the ability to problem solve and re-prioritize as needed.
- Cash handling experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etcetera) as well as point of sale software.
- Required to stand/walk for extended periods of time, and able to lift 20 pounds without difficulty
- Comfortable with heights, elevators, and stairs.
- Comfort using a radio.
- Current Smart Serve and Safe Food Handler certifications.
