Job description:
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and professional Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests at The Powder Room on Yorkville — a curated nightlife destination where high fashion, luxury mixology, and the energy of Toronto’s elite social scene come together.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about hospitality. This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escorting guests to their tables and providing menus
- Maintaining an organized seating chart and coordinating with servers
- Answering phone calls, managing reservations, and responding to guest inquiries
- Ensuring the entrance and host stand are clean, organized, and presentable
- Assisting with guest flow to maintain a smooth dining experience
- Handling guest concerns with professionalism and escalating when necessary
- Performing other duties as assigned by management to support daily operations and team success
Qualifications
- Previous hosting or customer service experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
